RETSD Competes in Provincewide Esports Competition
Congratulations to the esports team from École John Henderson Middle School on their success at a recent provincewide esports competition held May 25–26 by the Manitoba School Esports Association (MSEA). The team placed first in the game Brawlhalla, second in the game Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and second in the game Pokémon UNITE. Well done!
It was the largest in-person scholastic esports event in Manitoba history. Students from École Munroe, Chief Peguis, and Valley Gardens middle schools also took part, competing with other middle school teams from across the province in a variety of games. All of the teams played well and were great representatives for our division.
Many thanks to Richard Roberts on his hard work in organizing the participation of our school teams in this event, and his leadership in esports provincially. Richard is RETSD’s technology integration consultant, as well as director of media for MSEA.
