City-Wide fire drill!

This year marks the 100th Anniversary of Fire Prevention Week across Canada, as well as all of North America. Fire Prevention Week is from Sunday, October 9 until Saturday, October 15, 2022. This year’s theme is “Fire won’t wait. Plan your escape.” 

On Wednesday, October 12, 2022, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service is planning a city-wide fire drill for all of our schools. We are hopeful to have all schools schedule and participate in a fire drill simultaneously between 11:00 -11:30 a.m.

I’d also like to take a moment to share with you that all City of Winnipeg Fire Stations will be hosting Station Open Houses on Saturday, October 15, 2022, from 12:00 until 4:00 p.m. Each station will have activities planned that will encourage families to create and practice home escape plans. We are excited to again welcome the public into our stations and encourage you to share this information with your families.
