School-Home Communication

Communication

Communication between parents and teachers are extremely important factors in the success of any student.  Teachers will contact parents during the school year.  We encourage parents to feel free to contact the school when there are questions or concerns.  By communicating on a continual basis, the home and school together can work towards a successful year for the child.

Our school office hours are 8:15 - 4:00 p.m. each school day.  The school phone number is 958-6860; messages can be left 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Additional Methods of Communication

  • newsletters are sent home with the youngest child in the family to keep parents informed of student activities, upcoming events, important dates, etc.
  • early in the year we invite parents to meet the staff of Joseph Teres School and to visit each child's classroom.  Report cards are issued three times a year:  November, March and June.  Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled to coincide with the reporting periods.
  • special evenings are planned to explain new programs or curriculum to parents.
