Season Information

Mid-March to end of April.

League Play

All teams will participate in a single evening or day tournament at the end of the season.

Team Selections

Grade 6:

All interested grade 6 students will either play grade 6 boys club or grade 6 girls club. No tryouts, no cuts.

Grade 7 and 8:

Students can play either girls singles, girls doubles, boys singles, boys doubles or mixed doubles. To streamline the process and accommodate the high volume of interested students (typically ranging from 50-60 per grade), our badminton team selection operates as follows:

• Introduction and Skill Assessment: The first week comprises three practice sessions aimed at familiarizing students with the rules, regulations, basic skills, and gameplay of badminton. During this time, students will also decide which category they wish to compete in.

• Mini Tournaments: In the second week, students will engage in mini tournaments within their selected categories. These tournaments serve to identify the top performers in each category.

By using this approach and considering these criteria, we aim to form a competitive and inclusive badminton team while providing opportunities for students to showcase their talents and passion for the sport.
