School Climate

Code of Conduct

ÉSHS upholds high expectations for student academic performance and behaviour. ÉSHS expects that students will be well behaved to maximize instructional time.

ÉSHS uses a wide range of consequences to deal with inappropriate student behaviour. Consequences are immediate, appropriate, fair, and show students that they have ownership of the problem.

ÉSHS adheres to River East Transcona School Division's Code of Conduct.

Participation

Schools are for learning. Parents and guardians have the right to expect that their child will receive an education at school. In order for this to happen, the children need to be ready to be students; they need to be willing to make an effort and be active participants in their own learning.

Respect

Successful and effective social citizenship is based upon respect. Parents and guardians have a right to expect that children will be treated with respect and consideration for their dignity. Children learn what they live; as teachers, therefore, we strive always to model for the children the kind of behavior, attitudes and language we expect from them.
