Murdoch Student Receives Adaptive Bike

On February 1, a group of caring people came together to make something special happen. Candace, a Murdoch MacKay Collegiate student, was the lucky recipient of a bike from Freedom Concepts, a Manitoba company that custom-builds adaptive bikes for people who have special requirements.

The funds to purchase the bike were donated by Perfect Landscaping, a family-run company located in Sunnyside (formerly North Transcona) that has donated funds for several bikes over the years. And none of this would be possible without Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation, an organization that brought all these people and companies together to create this heartwarming moment.

Candace was delighted to receive her bike, and members of her family—mother Lindsay and sister Isabella—were on hand to enjoy the presentation, as well. It is a great example of how a community can co-ordinate efforts to make a positive difference in people’s lives.
