Westview's Parent Council (PAC) is now accepting donations for its annual Christmas Shop which will be held on Thursday, December 12. The purpose of this shop is for our children to be able to choose, purchase and giftwrap a present for one or two special people in their lives for less than $3 (please do not send more!).
How does it work? Each classroom is assigned a time slot by random draw to visit the shop in the Library on December 12. Our shop is filled with volunteers to assist the children when needed, but our experience has been that the children love the independence they have in the shop. Please discuss with your child prior to the event who they will be shopping for, and please send no more than $3 in a plastic Ziploc with your child's name and classroom on it. This is not a fundraising event - any proceeds from the Christmas Shop will be donated toward the school's Christmas hampers.
Now in order to ensure that all of our students are able to choose a few lovely gifts at the shop, we need donations of new or gently-used items. Below is a list of items that are always in need. Donations can be dropped off to our bins located in the Family Room beside the office until December 10.
Donated Items may include:
- giftwrap, tape, gift tags
- decorative items
- sporting goods
- board games
- home decor
- men's items
- any gently used or new item that could be given as a gift!
If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, contact the school office at 204-958-6412. Volunteers are needed to set up the shop on December 11 from 12:00-3:30 and throughout the day on December 12.
Please note that if your child is in even-day Kindergarten, they will visit the shop at the end of day on December 11.
Thank you for your support!
