Activities

Breakfast Club

Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning all Sherwood School students are invited to come to school at 8:30 a.m. to enjoy breakfast. The breakfast, usually toast, cereal, juice, milk and fruit, is prepared and served by volunteers from St. Saviour's and Crosspoint Community Churches. Parents/guardians are asked to complete a signed permission slip that will be kept on file for the whole year. This is a drop-in program and is open to all students in Grades K-5. Permission slips are available under documents & forms or from the school office.

Music Activities

Physical Education Activities

Run Club

Students in grades 3-5 can attend run club which is held in the mornings before school during the fall and spring months.  Those students who attend regularly are invited to attend a divisional fun run which is held in October.

Skip Club

Non-divisional Events

Field Day

Students participate in an all-day field day practicing their skills at many stations set up inside and outside.

Soccer

Students sometimes have the opportunity to play in a soccer tournament held all day at a school in the division in May.

Terry Fox Run

Every year in September/October, Sherwood School takes part in the Terry Fox Run and also raises money for cancer research.  The whole school walks/runs on behalf of Terry Fox and learns about his journey across Canada.

Volleyball

Students in Grade 5 participate in a half-day volleyball tournament at Hampstead School in November. When needed, the Grade 4 classes have also been included to assist on a team.
