Welcome RETSD Administrators
Manitoba Education, Citizenship and Youth has established a new online WBC Request System which allows the teacher to create his/her online web-courses. The teacher therefore is responsible for keeping online class lists up-to-date. The procedure for this is outlined in the teacher area. The online administrator for each school is responsible for admitting students into online courses offered at their school. There are four possible scenarios:
1. Registering my students with online teachers in my building
Students from school will apply either through the use of the regular course request system or directly through contact by email or in person.
- Interview students and approve for registration if appropriate.
- If approved, have the student complete the online contract, a $100 refundable deposit is required (optional if student is taking a course taught by a teacher from your own school).
- Use the RETSD online web course request system ('Register' button at top right) to put the student on a waiting list. The online co-ordinator will check for available space in the course and send student information to the online teacher.
- Verification of registration will automatically be sent to the online teacher and his/her administrator.
2. Registering my students with other RETSD online teachers
- Interview students and approve for registration if appropriate.
- If approved, have the student complete the online contract, a $100 refundable deposit is required.
- Use the RETSD online web course request system ('Register' button at top right) to put the student on a waiting list. The online co-ordinator will check for available space in course and send student information to the online teacher.
- Verification of registration will automatically be sent to the online teacher and his/her administrator.
3. Registering my students with online teachers from other school divisions
- Interview students and approve for registration if appropriate.
- If approved, have the student complete the online contract.
- A $500 fee is required for all courses offered by InFormNet - this fee is nonrefundable. The $100 deposit may be waived in this instance.
- Use the RETSD online web course request system to put the student on a waiting list. The online co-ordinator will negoatiate with the teacher/online administrator of other division and if approved, send student information to the online teacher.
- Verification of registration will automatically be sent to the online teacher who in turn will let the student and his/her administrator know of the successful registration.
4. Registering other students with online teachers in my building
- All of these registrations (approved requests) should come to the RETSD online co-ordinator.
- RETSD online co-ordinator will verify that space exists and student information will be forwarded to the host administrator and cc: to the online teacher.
- Verification of registration will automatically be sent to the online teacher who in turn will let the student and his/her administrator know of the successful registration.
