National Poetry Semifinal - Nina Thach

April 17, 2019

Congratulations to Kildonan-East Collegiate grade 12 student, Nina Thach!  She is one of twelve students selected from across Canada as a semi-finalist for the 2019 National Poetry in Voice contest.  PIV is a charitable organization that supports Canadian students' love of poetry and poetry recitation.  Poetry In Voice was founded in 2010 by Scott Griffin, Chairman and founder of The Griffin Trust for Excellence in Poetry as a recitation contest that has grown to become a cultural force in Canada, used in over 1,000 schools.

Nina will compete at the Winnipeg Art Gallery on April 24th for a finalist position to be held on April 25th.  Each competitor will recite three poems from a selected list curated by the PIV team.  The winner earns $5000 for themselves and $1000 for their school library!
