ÉMU User-Pay Lunch Supervision Program
In 2007, the River East Transcona School Division board of trustees moved to develop a new policy regarding user-pay lunch supervision programs. This policy recognizes that the care and supervision of a child during the midday break is a parental responsibility. However, non-profit, user-pay, supervised lunch programs may be established and operated by parent groups.
ÉMU recognizes that appropriate and adequate supervision is essential for the safety and well-being of children. The ÉMU User-Pay Lunch Supervision Program (UPLSP) is a fee-for-service program responsible for the safety and supervision of students during the lunch hour. The program employs a lunch program co-ordinator, a treasurer, and a complement of full-time and part-time lunch supervisors. These individuals supervise students during lunchtime in the classroom and on the playground. Supervisors are provided with guidance and training through RETSD to support their efforts in working with children.
Mme Lisa Kocis is the co-ordinator of the program. If you have any questions or concerns she may be reached at email@example.com or by leaving a message with the school office at 204-958-6832.
Please join us for the UPLSP Meeting at 6:00 p.m., just before PAC meetings in the school library. We would love to see you at the meetings to help the UPLSP run smoothly.
