Several of Princess Margaret School's English-German Bilingual Program teachers were involved in a sidewalk poetry project this year. This project came together under the direction and support of our divisional languages consultant, Ingrid Moehlmann.
Classroom teachers used the writing process and students' love of poetry and their imaginations to write poetry to be featured around the school. The poems will be showcased on school property and around the direct sidewalk area of the school building.
Eleven schools from RETSD have been involved—Miles Macdonell, River East, Collège Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau, John Henderson, Munroe, École Regent Park, Chief Peguis, Sun Valley, Prince Edward, Donwood, and Princess Margaret.
Poems appear in all the languages we teach in the division: French, German, Ukrainian, Spanish, and Japanese. Some schools have completed their work now and others will be continuing with their poems in September.
Featured in these photos are three of Princess Margaret's German bilingual teachers, Monika Mueller, Megan Bradshaw, and Alex Wall.
