As announced by the board of trustees, on Feb. 22, 2021, École Regent Park will welcome Grade 4 students for next school year. Current Grade 3 students at both École Margaret-Underhill and École Centrale will make the move September 2021.
RETSD recently conducted a student enrolment review that found increased demand for French milieu programming that shows École Margaret-Underhill is currently at capacity and is expected to go over capacity earlier than previously projected.
Although École Centrale is not immediately at capacity, all current Grade 3 students at EMU and EC will move together to ERP as a peer group to limit disruptions.
Families whose students are impacted by this change have been notified and were invited to a transition meeting in early March.
For more information please see the FAQ below or contact your child's school.
How do I register my child for Grade 4 at École Regent Park?
Your child's current school—École Margaret-Underhill or École Centrale—can provide you with a registration form and will see that it is sent to ERP.
What about transportation?
Generally, all K–Grade 6 students and rural students in Grades 7–12 who reside more than 1.6 kilometres from their designated school are eligible for transportation. If you have questions regarding eligibility, phone the transportation department at 204.669.0202 or email them at email@example.com.
Will childcare spots be available for students?
Some of our schools house independently operated and licensed nursery schools, daycare centres, before-and-after school programs, and kindercare programs. We recommend parents contact these programs directly for information about availability. For a complete list of these programs and centres, the schools they're located within, and their contact information, click here.
Are there plans to build a play structure at ERP?
RETSD will ensure there is plenty of outdoor equipment and activities for the early years' students attending ERP. At this time, there are no plans to build a play structures for the immediate future as they are not funded by the school divisions or the department of education.
Do you anticipate any other changes to area catchments in the coming years?
As soon as the needed renovations for ERP to become a K–8 school are secured through the province, the board will move to shifting boundary lines for ERP, EMU and EC. We do not have a timeline for this anticipated approval.
