We welcome parents and members of the community to volunteer in our schools.
One of the most effective ways for parents to get involved is by joining the school's parent advisory council. The council is an excellent way to stay in touch with what is happening in your child's school and to have a voice concerning such things as cultural and extracurricular activities, behaviour management, school budgets and plans, and fundraising activities.
In some of our schools, parent and non-parent volunteers are important helpers in classrooms or are there to assist during special events or projects. If you will be interacting with students, you will be required to have a child abuse registry check and other safeguards as determined by the principal. In some cases, a criminal record check is required as well.
Visit the school to find out more about the volunteer opportunities available there.
