Superintendent’s Message

Welcome to River East Transcona School Division. We are located in northeast Winnipeg and operate 42 schools and educate about 16,600 students each year. We are the second largest school division in the province.

Ours is a dynamic school division committed to providing relevant, progressive educational programming and supportive services in a safe, stimulating learning environment.

We care about and respect our students because their parents and the community entrust them to us. Our aim is to provide students with the education, guidance and services they need to learn and progress to the fullest extent possible and we are able to do this through the work of our committed, talented staff of about 1,800 educators and support staff.

RETSD is built on a foundation of solid values, an attitude of inclusion, and an exciting and full curriculum. We apply fair and consistent rules and we pride ourselves in open communication.
