Pre-High School Programming

English and Math Foundations

The English and Math Foundations class is for students who want to improve their basic literacy abilities. This class teaches English skills such as: reading, writing, spelling and communication. Students will also receive instruction in mathematics. Topics covered in math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions. Learners work on a variety of tasks/assignments in order to complete a portfolio. Upon completion of a portfolio, a student may be eligible to receive a certificate of achievement in literacy and learning awarded by the Department of Adult Learning and Literacy. Students may also then be able to register for high school credit courses.
